Master's Degree in General Health Psychology
The Master is designed to offer specialized training in the field of health psychology. The proposal coincides with the criteria established with the absolute consensus among the Spanish Faculties of Psychology that the most outstanding basic knowledge refers to the methods of evaluation, diagnosis and psychological treatments, and, in fair correspondence, the expert knowledge falls on all in competences related to psychological intervention (choosing the appropriate techniques, defining the objectives and the intervention plan, applying direct intervention strategies and methods), with evaluation, diagnosis and expertise (conducting interviews, describing and measuring variables and processes psychological, identify problems and needs, know how to diagnose), ethical obligations, know how to analyze the needs and demands of the recipients and communication skills (prepare oral and written reports), to end with the ability to provide feedback to the parties involved.
The General Health Psychologist, who holds, in addition to the Bachelor's/Graduate degree in Psychology, the official Master's degree in General Health Psychology, would be considered a health professional and could carry out his professional activity on his own account or for someone else in the health sector, carrying out investigations, evaluations or psychological interventions on any aspect of behavior related to health, within the framework of the provisions of the Law. Lastly, when a professional activity is carried out that makes effective any health provision of the portfolio of common services of the National Health System, and this activity is carried out in public or private centers, or the care requested requires a specialized level, they must be in possession of the title of specialist in Clinical Psychology.

- Private consultation, either alone or in the company of other psychologists or other professionals, and in the public Health System (public mental health clinics, drug treatment units, public hospitals, etc.)
- Non-Governmental Organizations, in assistance programs for drug addicts, chronically ill, etc.
Practices
Given that this Master enables them to practice the profession of General Health Psychologist in Spain and taking into account that all the internship centers that are offered are Spanish, foreign students interested in the Master must necessarily travel to Spain to carry out their training period. practices in a center.
Admission profile
To access the Master's Degree in General Health Psychology, you must meet the access requirements, required by current regulations. To these, it is necessary for the student to have previous skills and knowledge of topics related to Psychology, especially to function in all areas where Psychology intervenes; It is important that people who want to access Master's studies want to contribute to improving the quality of life of the citizens to whom their professional work will be directed.
NOTE: Given that this Master qualifies to practice the profession of General Health Psychologist in Spain and taking into account that all the internship centers offered are Spanish, foreign students interested in the Master must necessarily travel to Spain to carry out their period of practices in a center.
Admission requirements
In the event that the demand exceeds the offer of places, the Academic Committee of the degree will examine the CVs of the candidates in order to decide whether or not it is pertinent to grant them the right to enroll, in accordance with the entry profiles and the established prior training requirements. For this case, the Commission will prepare a hierarchical list of merits of the candidates in accordance with the following criteria:
- Academic record (30%)
- Professional experience (30%)
- Complementary training (20%)
- Attendance at conferences and seminars (20%)
Likewise, the Commission may conduct a personal interview with the candidate, if it deems it necessary.
