Introduction
Finance is critical to the operations and management of any business, regardless of the industry or goods or services provided. As a Katz MBA graduate, you'll be prepared to take on challenging roles in corporate finance, investment management, financial consulting, and financial institutions.
To build a strong foundation in the concepts and theories of finance, students complete a series of core and elective classes taught by renowned faculty and business leaders. Among other things, Katz finance students learn to assess uncertainty, forecast cash flows, and make value-maximizing decisions aimed at achieving long-term strategic goals. Finance students also gain real-world experience and skills in the Katz Financial Analysis Laboratory. The 3,000 square-foot lab has the analytical tools and software commonly used in Wall Street trading rooms and corporate finance institutions.
Katz is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute University Affiliate. This affiliation signals to students, employers, and the marketplace that the school’s curriculum is closely tied to professional practice and is well suited to prepare students to sit for the CFA examination. You can work toward becoming a CFA while also earning your MBA. There is an increasing need for finance professionals who have strong quantitative and analytical skills, as well as communication and interpersonal skills. The outlook for finance jobs is positive and the variety of finance career trajectories is ever-growing. The Katz Finance MBA will provide a strategic advantage as you seek to advance or launch your career in finance within a global financial marketplace.
