Introduction

The training objective of the UDIMA Master's in Business Administration and Management (MBA)/Master in Business Administration (MBA) is to provide students with advanced training that will enable them to face the challenge of managing different types of organizations.

For this, it starts from the general management of a company and offers advanced and interdisciplinary knowledge of the different areas that make up a company, with the aim that the student masters the most important aspects that those responsible for the different departments of a company have to know. organization.

In order to run a company, a manager not only needs to have technical knowledge of the different areas of the organization. That is why this Master also trains in a series of skills that will allow them to understand and analyze the complexity of the immediate environment of the company, as well as the general environment of the society in which it operates in an interconnected and networked world. Said knowledge and skills will allow an improvement in decision-making that will have an impact on better results for the organization.

In short, it is intended that the student obtain a multidisciplinary knowledge of the different dimensions that converge in the planning and management of actions within organizations present in the global digital environment, and that train them for the adequate performance of decision making. in the company.

Aspects such as the type of organization, its size and the sector in which it operates, undoubtedly have a significant impact on the way companies and the professionals and managers that comprise them act. That is why this program has five different specialties that will allow the student to enjoy:

  • On the one hand, a deep understanding of what refers to the main departments of a company.
  • On the other hand, specific knowledge of the specialty selected by the student.

The specialties that can be chosen within this MBA are the following:

  • Specialization in Strategic Management of the Company
  • Specialization in International Business Management
  • Specialty in Tourism and Hotel Business Management
  • Specialty in Business Management in the Clinical and Health field
  • Specialization in Management of Technological Companies

The UDIMA MBA is a Master's degree that can be studied in Spanish or English. Those who want to do it in English should consult the information in this regard that they will find in the "Access and Admission" section.

The Master in Business Administration and Management (MBA)/Master in Business Administration (MBA) may be taken, without the need to complete training supplements, who are in possession of any of the following qualifications:

  • Diploma, Bachelor's Degree or Degree in Business Administration, Business Administration and Management, Business Sciences or similar denomination.
  • Diploma, Licenciatura or Degree in Economics or similar denomination.
  • Diploma, Bachelor's Degree or Degree in Tourism, Companies and Tourist Activities or similar denomination.
  • Technical Engineer, Engineer or Degree in Industrial Organization Engineering or similar denomination.

However, as it is a degree whose knowledge is transversal to the different branches of knowledge and that may be of interest to other professionals, it can also be done by graduates who are outside the aforementioned scope and who come from the Branch of Social and Legal Sciences, Architecture and Engineering with specific orientation to the field of economy and business.

In this case, they must take a subject called "Specific Complements to Business Management" (see table of training complements in the "Study Plan" tab), in order to lay the foundations of knowledge in business management. This complement will be mandatory, and can be done before the Master, or simultaneously with it during the first semester.

Once the verification procedure established in Royal Decree 1393/2007, of October 29, which regulates the organization of official university education, has been completed, the implementation of the Title is authorized by Order 1820/2021, of July 13, of the Community of Madrid (BOCM of July 21, 2021).

Methodology

The UDIMA methodology is based on a distance learning system that promotes continuous assessment and "learning-by-doing" in an environment of closeness, accessibility and real-time interaction between the teacher and the student, through information technology. the information and the comunication.

The teaching-learning process is developed through the Virtual Classrooms in which students have at their disposal a Teaching Guide with the planning of the subject. The teaching methodology ensures the acquisition of knowledge and professional and personal skills through a continuous assessment system embodied in didactic activities, self-assessment questionnaires and a final face-to-face exam.

To promote the study and training of the student, the following training actions are developed:

  1. Study the Didactic Units through the didactic material made available to the student and designed for online study: manuals, books, articles and other bibliography related to the subjects under study.
  2. Develop didactic training activities through assumptions, practical cases and questionnaires, using the tools of online teaching platforms.
  3. Carry out activities that involve the search and management of information.
  4. Prepare studies, reports, projects that launch professional skills.
  5. Offer a tutorial action permanently available to the student that allows a correct teaching-learning process, using follow-up strategies such as online or telephone tutorials.
  6. Develop an evaluation process in continuous action that allows the reorientation of the learning process.
  7. Carry out curricular and extracurricular internships in specialized centers to achieve the professional capacities of the degree.
  8. Promote research capacities through didactic strategies such as project formulation, data analysis, study of results, drawing conclusions, and bibliography management.
  9. Develop oral presentation skills and defense of academic papers using the possibilities of office automation didactic tools.
