Introduction

The Master's Degree in Cooperatives and Socio-Business Management develops skills for the comprehensive management of cooperatives and social economy organizations within one of the world's leading cooperative ecosystems: the Mondragon Cooperative Experience.

This international master's degree, of 60 ETCS credits, is 100% online with the possibility of a stay at Mondragon. The methodology, based on cases and challenges, promotes the practical application of competencies and experiential learning, equity and democracy.

Regardless of the chosen itinerary, the master's degree has 60 ECTS.

This university master's degree is directed by the LANKI Cooperative Studies Institute, a benchmark in cooperative research.

Methodology

The organization of the teaching-learning process is based on the principles of the Mondragon Unibertsitateaeducational model, Mendeberri 2025, which are:

  • Implementation of active methodologies.
  • Interdisciplinarity.
  • Design of evaluation systems aligned with the development of competencies.
  • Leading role of the student.
  • Personalization of learning.
  • Digitization.

Within this framework, learning methodologies based on problems, cases, challenges, and projects that make it possible to enter real professional situations are proposed. They also promote student reflection on the development of their skills and the monitoring of their professional and personal development by the teaching team.

The learning modality of this master's degree is online, with the possibility of a stay of 15-20 days in the Basque Country to learn first-hand about the Mondragon Cooperative Experience. The online modality allows the student greater flexibility in the learning process and to be able to decide when and at what pace to work within the marked program.

Final Master's Project

The Final Master's Project (TFM) constitutes the backbone of the master's degree. The elaboration of the TFM is carried out throughout the Master, not only at the end of it. Often, the starting point of the TFM is a real situation (practice) object of improvement, to whose development the master's subjects directly contribute. Likewise, the Master's Thesis may consist of a research project that gives access to the doctorate.
