Purposes

Fox Valley Technical College, consistent with statutorily mandated purposes, holds to the following purposes:

  1. Deliver (a) Associate Degree, Diploma, and (b) Certificate-level educational programs which provide the skills and knowledge necessary to address occupational competencies from initial job entry to advanced certification.
  2. Provide training and education to upgrade the occupational skills of individuals and the business and industry workforce.
  3. Offer related academic and technical support courses for joint labor/management apprenticeship programs.
  4. Design and deliver customized training, consulting services, and technical assistance in partnership with public and private sector employers to further economic development.
  5. Provide community services and avocational or self-enrichment activities.
  6. Collaborate with secondary schools, colleges, and universities to enable students' smooth passage between educational systems.
  7. Provide (a) basic skills programming and (b) counseling services necessary to enhance the success of students.
  8. Offer educational programming and supportive services for special populations to address barriers prohibiting participation in education and employment.

Statistics

As the largest higher education system in the state, the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) is the leader in the delivery of cutting-edge, skills-based education. The system offers over 500 programs of study and supports more than 300,000 enrollments each year. 16 college districts comprise the system, and job placement is strong: 91% of WTCS graduates are employed within 6 months of graduation.

Fox Valley Technical College offers more than 250 associate degrees, technical diploma and certificate programs, and instruction related to 16 apprenticeship trades, in addition to providing services to business and industry. The college serves almost 50,000 people annually, more than any other technical college in Wisconsin.

Students

  • Five years after graduation, the average hourly salary is $26.58 or $55,277 yearly (Class of 2015)
  • 98% of graduates are satisfied with their training
  • Employers are quite satisfied with FVTC graduates, 98% would hire a graduate again
  • The largest employers of new graduates are healthcare, transportation, and manufacturing

    Campus Features

    The main campus in Appleton is located on a 145-acre site with 860,976 sq. ft. of facility space, including satellite buildings: Career Exploration and Financial Literacy Center, D.J. Bordini Center, and J.J. Keller Transportation Center, and Service Motor Company Agriculture Center.

    The Public Safety Training Center is a new 98,825 sq. ft. facility on a 77.5-acre site just south of the Appleton International Airport.

    Four facilities comprise the FVTC Oshkosh Campus. The Riverside Campus is a 66,786 sq. ft. facility on a 12.6-acre site. Other locations include the S.J. Spanbauer Center, the Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center and the FabTech Education Center, together totaling 127,052 sq. ft.

    Four regional centers are located in Chilton, Clintonville, Waupaca, and Wautoma, plus more than 50 other outreach locations where services are provided across the District.

    Tech Village offers apartment-style student living. Share a comfortable, fully-furnished, four-bedroom, two-bath suite with four other students. Community amenities will include high-speed internet, walking path and a variety of settings for learning, creating and connecting.

    Tech Village Student Living will give you the opportunity to meet international students from around the globe as well as students from the local area.
